What is HYARAJUKU?

The name came to be because of Mimi's lifelong admiration and appreciation for Harajuku, a neighborhood in Japan known for its eccentric fashion and acceptance of expression through it. HYARAJUKU takes heavy inspiration from the styles of the neighborhood, including gothic lolita, a fashion subculture with influence from Victorian-era gothic fashion.

Shipping and Local Purchases

The bones (jump rings, pins, wire...) of my jewelry are all made of stainless steel, some plated with gold or silver. My older pieces are made with brass, a cheaper and less sturdy material that can rust and deteriorate over time.

The beads I use are usually made of glass, but I tend to use freshwater pearls and metal beads/bead caps on occasion.

I also use chains and spikes for added detail. I typically don't know what the metal of these are made of (though it's usually brass), so if there's any concern with allergies or rusting be aware!
